This seminar is open to racers of all levels who would like to improve their knowledge of the rules. After spending a little time covering the basic rules the floor will be opened up to the audience who will be encouraged to ask questions and share their "rules experiences" on the water.

Seminar Topics

This seminar will be given by local sailor Bruce Fleck a US Sailing Certified Judge and Race Officer.

We will be asking for a $5 donation. Beverages & snacks will be provided. If you plan on attending please rsvp online.

STARTS
Learn about the rules that apply during starts.
CROSSINGS
Discuss common crossing situations and which rules you should be aware of on the course.
MARK ROUNDINGS
Understand how to sail around marks, what the zone around the mark is and how the rules apply.
PROTESTS
Understand the correct procedure for protesting another boat on the race course. Learn the advantages of arbitration and if necessary how to submit an official protest after the race.
REDRESS
Learn if you are entitled to redress and how to get it.
Q & A
An opportunity to ask an expert about some of your recent encounters on the race course. Determine which rules applied, who was right who was wrong and what you can learn for next time.
