So you already know how to sail but don't have any certifications. Take this short one day course which will put your skills to the test. Provided you pass the written exam and the practical sailing test then you'll be awarded your ASA 101 certification - it's just that easy!

What You Will Be Tested On
Sailing Knowledge
- Terminology
including parts of a sailboat, functions of items on a sailboat, sailing terms, parts of a sail, points of sail and more.
- Navigation Rules
identify “stand-on” and “give-way” boats in common situations involving sailboats and power boats, navigation aids, sounds signals, running lights and more.
- Boating Regulations
including boat documentation, waste disposal, float plans, accidents, and more.
Sailing Skills
- Gear & Equipment
including PFDs, appropriate clothing, and more.
- Sailing
including hoisting and lowering of sails, acting as skipper & crew using proper commands and responses, sailing away and back to the dock in various wind conditions, sailing upwind and downwind while performing tacks & gybes, and more.
- Crew Overboard
including be able to recover a person after they fell overboard, knowing how to get a person onboard, and more.
- Knots
know the function and be able to tie some common sailing knots including a bowline, a figure eight, a cleat hitch and more.
