The Pogo 2 has launched

This week the first US built Pogo 2, USA 804, was launched in Marina del Rey, CA. This is really big milestone for Open Sailing and has taken almost a year to accomplish. As you can imagine everyone is very excited to see this boat out sailing. Check out this short teaser video of the launch and 1st sail as well as this gallery of photos.

Fastest Growing Fleet

"The Open 5.70 was recently recognized by US Sailing as one of the fastest growing one-design fleets in the US. With many one design fleets seeing a decline in numbers over the last few years the Open 5.70 has seen nothing but growth. The boat was introduced to the USA in July 2006 and now there are 30 boats nationwide."

Definitely the highlight of the 2010 Open 5.70 racing calendar, Long Beach Race week saw a record 15 Open 5.70s on the starting line. Open Sailing was there in force and had a professional videographer on a chase boat with a nice HD camera to capture the action.
