Newport International Boat Show

Open Sailing will be at the Newport International Boat in Rhode Island. The show start on Thursday September 17th through Sunday September 20th. The Open 5.70 will be on display next to TENT A. You'll be able to check out the boat and there will also be an opportunity to schedule a demo after the show. Read more

Sarcoma Cup

The Open 5.70s showed up in force at the Sarcoma Cup with 5 boats racing on San Francisco Bay. With challenging conditions for both the buoy racing and the pursuit race the boats and the crew were put through their paces. "boracic" put on a good show by winning every race. Read more

Last Sunset

Most people associate the end of summer with Labor Day… Sailors in Marina del Rey associate the end of summer with the last Wednesday night Sunset Series Race. On September 2nd there was a good turn out of 74 boats including TWO Open 6.50s. Read more

Down The Coast

The Marina del Rey to Seal Beach race is 30 miles of downwind sailing which takes the racers through some of the windiest places Southern California has to offer. This is a great race for the Open boats, plenty of wind, plenty of waves and spinnaker up the whole way. Read more

Women at the Helm

The WOW/WAH regatta has two divisions: Women on Water (WOW) - composed of all female teams and Women at the Helm (WAH) - composed of co-ed teams with a female driver. This year the Open 5.70 fleet will be racing in the WAH division and we're hoping to get at least 6 boats out on the race course. Read more
