Open 5.70 World Cup
On July 25th to 27th the Open 5.70 had its first ISAF World Championship. 20 boats participated with teams from France, Spain and the USA. The event was held in Martigues, France and the sailors raced in wind ranging from 8 to 25 knots. Read more

Kattack Debut in Europe
The Open 5.70 Worlds also saw the debut of the Kattack Performance App in Europe. The competitors were able to watch the races at the Yacht Club after racing and darkened room was crowded with enthusiastic sailors reliving their day on the water and seeing what the top teams did to win.

Two New Open 6.50s
Two more Open 6.50s have just arrived from France. The red Open 6.50 will be raced in Southern California by Open Sailing. The black Open 6.50 is not black at all, it is actually a clear coat which has to be seen to be believed. Read more.

San Francisco Road Trip
Open Sailing is planning a most excellent road trip to San Francisco from August 19th to August 26th. We will be bringing two Open 5.70s and our plan is to do some beer can races as well as get a one-design start at the Sarcoma Cup out of Richmond Yacht Club. Read more.

Racing Season Far From Over
Summer is in full swing and there are plenty of opportunities on the horizon to go sailing and enjoy your Open 5.70. As you all know the fleet in Marina del Rey has been growing all year and there are some great one-design events coming up that we should all make the most of. Read more

Upcoming Boat Show
We are attending the Long Beach Boat Show from September 10th - 13th. There will be one Open 5.70 in the water for demo rides and one Open 5.70 on display. More details.

Damn Damn
Hood River Yacht Club, up in Oregan, ran it’s 2nd Double Damned regatta in August. It’s tagline is “A different kind of insanity”. The typical wind in that area can be quite high and during this race boats saw sustained wind in the 30 knot range and gusts over 40. Read more from USA 189
