This pre-owned boat is less than 2 years old and has only been sailed a handful of times. The original Fastacraft foils are still considered one of the most competitive in the Moth class. The sails are in perfect condition. The boat also has brand new trampolines that have never been used. All the hardware and lines are also in great condition. Overall the boat is very clean and well maintained and everything has been mostly stored inside. This is a great deal on a great boat!
The Columbia Gorge Racing Association is the host for the 2009 CST Composites International Moth Class World Championships. This regatta, one of the premiere events in the world of competitive sailing, has attracted top level sailors from around the world to test their skills in the famous winds of the Columbia River Gorge. The Moth Worlds, held annually since 1933, will be returning to North America for the first time since 1976.
Be sure to check out the official event website for pictures, results and daily reports.
There is also an awesome Moth video which is well worth watching – check it out here [be patient it has been very slow to load lately].
We finally found a little time to get the moth wet! After sitting in front of our office taunting us for months it was great to splash it and go play in the Marina del Rey channel. With Peter Drasnin on board it was a fierce competition to see who would be the first to get on a foil. After Jerome and Nik struggled to find their groove in the gusty channel conditions, Peter took to it like a pro. Using all his Laser experience he soon got the boat up a foil – but only for a second before wiping out. More pictures here.
Some eye candy for all those Carbon Fiber junkies out there!!
