This is without knowing that we were going to be the slowest rated boat (117), by a long shot: to name a few: Pendragon VI (-144), Pyewacket (-84), Medicine Man (-96) were still wondering until the start gun what we were doing in their play yard!! ;-) (more…)

SCYA Midwinters

Jerome

This is the 2nd High Point race on the Southern California One Design Calendar. The SCYA Midwinters Regatta take place on February 19th & 20th and is hosted by Cal Yacht Club in Marina del Rey. This is a huge event in Southern California where more than 600 boats compete at 30 different venues up and down the coast. With a local fleet of 11 Open 5.70s as well as some visiting boats from San Francisco there is going to be a lot of competition on the starting line!

The artwork for the SCYA Midwinters features the winning Open 5.70 from last years event – Michael Gough, on USA 186 “boracic”.
