For the first time this year, there was 5 Open 5.70s racing the Frank Guernsey Singlehanded Challenge. “Chupacabra”, the red Open 6.50 was also racing. The race takes place out of Redondo Beach, CA. The owners motored to the race course (over an hour sail/motor) and entered the race just in time, within minutes of the starting sequence. The race was a 6 mile W/L race. With an overcast and light weather the battle for first place in the Open 5.70 fleet was tight with 3 changes in lead during the race course.

Today we installed a full graphic wrap on one of owners Open 5.70. USA 279 now has a full decal stretching from the rail to the water line and it looks good!
