For many of us winter is just around the corner and the 2009 sailing season will soon become a distant memory. Of course for others the season never ends. Here in Southern California we are lucky enough to be able to sail year around. However, we’re not selfish and we want to share some of that season with you. On Saturday October 17th Redondo Beach Yacht Club hosted the Sixth Annual Frank Guernsey Single-Handed Challenge Race. It’s always been a tradition to do this race. Designed to be raced single handed the course is random leg and each leg is long giving the short handed boats plenty of time to change sails. It’s also a great race for the Open boats as there are often some reaching legs which are fast and fun.
