With no wind during the first race of the Berger series, we were looking forward for a second chance to shine aboard Chupacabra, our Open 6.50. The forecast that morning was wind from SSE, 7-9 knots, not ideal conditions for this race but good enough to splash the boat and go play. (more…)

On Saturday October 17th Redondo Beach Yacht Club hosted the Sixth Annual Frank Guernsey Single-Handed Challenge Race. It’s always been a tradition to do this race. Designed to be raced single handed the course is random leg and each leg is long giving the short handed boats plenty of time to change sails. It’s also a great race for the Open boats as there are often some reaching legs which are fast and fun.
